Ranger Energy is Driving New Thinking with our Tong Operating and Positioning System. Our TOPS system allows closed mouth power tubing tongs to be operated from a remote location on a mobile service rig to make up and break out tubing connections.
Increased Safety
TOPS™ is a “fit for market” device that is intended to be controlled by the Rig Operator so that floor hands can keep their hands away from dangerous operations. This decreases the risk of hand injury while maintaining the operational speed of a mobile service rig.
Features
TOPS enables making up and breaking out tubular connections on a mobile service rig by operating closed mouth power tubing tongs from a remote control panel in well maintenance, workover, completions, or P&A operations. TOPS mounts to the BOP flange with a quick connect, centralizes closed mouth power tong over the well, rotates off of well center, and raises up or down to position the tongs. The system can be operated remotely by a second-floor worker or the rig operator.
